Winter Chic

Hey there lovelies, One thing I've always love about #winter is the #fashion. Being able to gain a sense of creativity by layering various clothes is awesome. Check this chic winter look I put together. Also, notice the hair. Just because winter is coming doesn't mean you can't still rock a cute #protectivestyle. To pull off this hairstyle I just did the following:
1) normal wash routine
2) separate hair into four sections. (front bang optional)
3) braid/plait each section of hair
4) overlap & pin top  2 halves to scalp (repeat for bottom)
5) add your favorite hair accesories to dress up your look.
6) Take a #selfie because you know your HOT!
*To refresh/maintain moisture do a #LOC or #GHE method as needed. This style should last 7-14 days with proper moisturizing. Be sure to deep condition with your wash routine every 2-3 weeks for healthy hair maintenance*

The Good Deed Challenge

Hey Hey,

So I'm trying to start an epidemic with this good deed challenge. It's basically just random acts of kindness to demonstrate to others that we care. Charities are great, but lets join together and change someone's life for the better today, right now! Not only do random acts of kindness make the people you do something for feel appreciated, it also feels awesome for you too. After making this woman's day at Walmart, I literally was told I was glowing at work... I felt just felt absolutely amazing. So yeah you should definitely try killing someone with kindness. I guarantee it will be worth your while. If you'd like to post your good deed please tag me, or post on my blog, YouTube, Twitter, or Instagram @ caramelnatural82. Enjoy! #thegooddeedchallenge #randomactsofkindness

On The Battlefield For My Lord

Hello, Hello all you beautiful people!

Today was an awesome day :-) I just feel so blessed to know the Lord... So I just got back from church and wanted to share with you what I learned.

--Ephesians 6:10-24--

It is important to put to on the WHOLE armor of the Lord, for battle of the flesh and ways of the world are upon us. Our FAITH will be a shield against fiery darts and the helmet of SALVATION will keep our ears open to the word of God and not the ideas of the world. By the grace of God we are offered protection from the scheming and trickery of the devil. Standfast and allow God to work through you to annihilate that which is ungodly and desires to keep his children from his grace. This armor isn't to just protect the person wearing it, it protects all those who are within it's shield of grace. Meaning, as Christians we shouldn't just let our brothers and sisters succumb to wickedness without a fight. Through your love, understanding, and faith in the Lord you can pull them out of the fiery pits of hell so they may be shown the way, the truth and the light of Jesus Christ.
I know the straight and narrow is a hard path to maintain (trust me, I know), but God is within all of us and through him we can do all things. Sometimes Satan tempts us with pleasures and are not truly ours to own, and it's hard to resist especially if you're on hard times. You just want to "feel" better, but be weary of his conniving ways because it's just his way to get us "hooked" on the ways of the flesh. He already fell from the grace of God, therefore he has absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain from keep you from God. He has the sole purpose of making sure YOU accompany him in eternal DAMNATION (Proverbs 11:19). Disobedience keeps you from grace, therefore you are deaf and dumb and unable to experience the grace (or healing) of the Lord (1 Samuel 15:22-23; Proverbs 18:14). This is why I encourage you to be strong and walk by faith and not by sight, for the devil will use our eyes (the flesh) to deceive us. Having enough discipline to obey the word of the Lord will the key to the kingdom of heaven.

I hope you enjoyed my post and was able to experience some form of enlightenment. Stay tuned for more post and keep in touch with me by following me on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, & Instagram.

Have a Blessed Day.. Xoxo.

Just Say No To The Creamy Crack!

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbYaUCZySLFwlsJ-gCx4oIA

Hey there ladies and gents,

I just wanted to shout from the rooftop for you all to just say NO to the creamy crack! You DON'T need it! Not only is it a pocket robber, it is HORRIBLE for your hair and body in general. It's main component is Sodium Hydroxide which is commonly used in drain and oven cleaners, and can also be used as a paint stripper. It is labeled by the FDA as a health category: 3, severe caustic posion. Ever wonder why your hair just isn't going even though you've been putting all kinds of growth aids in your hair? Well, the truth of the matter is that unless you have a genetic, medical reason for your hair not growing the true culprit to your breakage, thinning, and chemical burns to your scalp could be sodium hydroxide or relaxers aka "creamy crack". I know silky, straight, "manageable" hair is addictive but is the long term damage worth it? I say NO!
My first relaxer was when I was at the tender age of 2! All because my mom had two babies to care for and my "nappy hair just was TOO unmanagable to be tamed. I love my mother to death, but really?! So that was the start of my long term battle and vicious cycle of creamy crack and its side effects i.e breakage, burns, and hairline thinning. This lasted until August 2012 when I decided to go cold turkey after going on a deployment where hair salons were null and void. I big chopped on Jan 17, 2013 and never looked back! At first I was extremely self-conscious because my hair had never been shorter than shoulder length. I also had to put up with A LOT of negativity from people including negative comments and stares, but in the long run I honestly couldn't be happier with my hair journey results. Of course I had my ups and downs, but I've grown significantly in my knowledge about caring for "ethnic" hair. Ultimately gaining a sense of empowerment because I now rely on myself alone for the health of my hair. Lol, I've probably saved thousands of dollars by not going to the salon every two weeks for "hair maintenance". Many black women just want long "good" hair, but you must ask yourself what more important long "good" hair or healthy hair. Fact, if your hair is healthy it will grow and the possibilty in length retention is unbelievable, which in my book is a sign of "good hair" no matter what texture or curl pattern God blessed you with. Trust! ;-)

Check out the links below to assistance you in the truth about the dangers of relaxers and other chemical-based products. Also, stay in touch by subscribing and/or following me on YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram. Xoxo...Deuces! <3

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse Reloaded

Hey there curlies,
I was asked to do another video for my apple cider vinegar rinse, so here is. I started doing apple cider vinegar rinses for my hair after being natural for only 3 months to minimize the amount of chemicals I was putting in my hair. I called it a healthy and affordable alternative to sulfate shampoos, which strips your hair of moisture. Apple cider vinegar does the same but not as much. If you experience intense dryness within the hair shaft after your rinse, be sure to dampen your hair with water and lightly coat just the strands of your hair (hair shaft) with a thick oil like castor oil for 5 mins prior to your next ACV. Also, if necessary lessen the amount of time you condition with the ACV to avoid excessive drying. Be sure to keep in touch with me by following me on YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram. Good luck to all of you in your natural hair journey and stay tuned for future posts. Xoxo.. Deuces! ;-)
