Just Say No To The Creamy Crack!

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbYaUCZySLFwlsJ-gCx4oIA

Hey there ladies and gents,

I just wanted to shout from the rooftop for you all to just say NO to the creamy crack! You DON'T need it! Not only is it a pocket robber, it is HORRIBLE for your hair and body in general. It's main component is Sodium Hydroxide which is commonly used in drain and oven cleaners, and can also be used as a paint stripper. It is labeled by the FDA as a health category: 3, severe caustic posion. Ever wonder why your hair just isn't going even though you've been putting all kinds of growth aids in your hair? Well, the truth of the matter is that unless you have a genetic, medical reason for your hair not growing the true culprit to your breakage, thinning, and chemical burns to your scalp could be sodium hydroxide or relaxers aka "creamy crack". I know silky, straight, "manageable" hair is addictive but is the long term damage worth it? I say NO!
My first relaxer was when I was at the tender age of 2! All because my mom had two babies to care for and my "nappy hair just was TOO unmanagable to be tamed. I love my mother to death, but really?! So that was the start of my long term battle and vicious cycle of creamy crack and its side effects i.e breakage, burns, and hairline thinning. This lasted until August 2012 when I decided to go cold turkey after going on a deployment where hair salons were null and void. I big chopped on Jan 17, 2013 and never looked back! At first I was extremely self-conscious because my hair had never been shorter than shoulder length. I also had to put up with A LOT of negativity from people including negative comments and stares, but in the long run I honestly couldn't be happier with my hair journey results. Of course I had my ups and downs, but I've grown significantly in my knowledge about caring for "ethnic" hair. Ultimately gaining a sense of empowerment because I now rely on myself alone for the health of my hair. Lol, I've probably saved thousands of dollars by not going to the salon every two weeks for "hair maintenance". Many black women just want long "good" hair, but you must ask yourself what more important long "good" hair or healthy hair. Fact, if your hair is healthy it will grow and the possibilty in length retention is unbelievable, which in my book is a sign of "good hair" no matter what texture or curl pattern God blessed you with. Trust! ;-)

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse Reloaded

Hey there curlies,
I was asked to do another video for my apple cider vinegar rinse, so here is. I started doing apple cider vinegar rinses for my hair after being natural for only 3 months to minimize the amount of chemicals I was putting in my hair. I called it a healthy and affordable alternative to sulfate shampoos, which strips your hair of moisture. Apple cider vinegar does the same but not as much. If you experience intense dryness within the hair shaft after your rinse, be sure to dampen your hair with water and lightly coat just the strands of your hair (hair shaft) with a thick oil like castor oil for 5 mins prior to your next ACV. Also, if necessary lessen the amount of time you condition with the ACV to avoid excessive drying. Be sure to keep in touch with me by following me on YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram. Good luck to all of you in your natural hair journey and stay tuned for future posts. Xoxo.. Deuces! ;-)
